Notes:

Fausto Maculan enjoys experimenting with Cabernet and he is an expert in producing sweet wines. Madoro means MAculan DOlce (sweet) ROsso (red) and it is Maculan’s new sweet red wine. Madoro is made with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Marzemina, a local red variety. Following a strict bunch selection, the grapes are dried until December. The wine is aged for 13 months in 100% new French oak barriques and then refined for 6 months in bottle. This inky purple port-style wine has an intense bouquet full of black cherries, blackberries and blueberries with hints of cocoa and toasted coffee. A nice note of balsamic eucalypt comes out on the nose. Full-bodied and very dense, it has a big structure but is well-balanced. Its finish is admirably long and filled with additional layers of dark fruits intermingled with spices.
