TOMMASI "RIPASSO" SELECTED BY BRITISH AIRWAYS
BRITISH AIRWAYS has announced the selection of the "RIPASSO" Valpolicella Classico Superiore doc wine from Verona’s "TOMMASI VITICOLTORI" for service on all of its Business Class - Club World flights. This marks the second time that this unique wine has been chosen by British Airways. The selection of Tommasi Ripasso gives testimony to the devotion of the Tommasi family which strives to produce the highest quality wines. From the extreme devotion and care to the vines in their own vineyards, in the wine cellar where grapes are followed step by step through the vinification process, to the final refinement in oak barrels and bottling, the Tommasi family oversees the process with loving concern.
British Airways The "RIPASSO" ("baby Amarone") is the unique result of refermenting TOMMASI Valpolicella Classico Superiore, on the warm dried grape skins from which Tommasi Amarone has been pressed. This process, used only in rare vintage years, imparts the richness of character and personality of a great wine to an already superior wine. TOMMASI Viticoltori is a family company which owns 135 hectares of vineyards located in the historic Valpolicella Classico area and in other D.O.C. provinces of Verona/Veneto. The Tommasi estates include three of the most prestigious and representative parcels in Valpolicella Classico zone: the "GROLETTA", the "CONCA D'ORO" and the "CA' FLORIAN" vineyards. Since 1997, Tommasi has also owned POGGIO AL TUFO: a 66 hectares wine-estate in Maremma, in the southern part of Tuscany. Dedicated to tradition but ever receptive to innovation, the TOMMASI wines tell the story of a family that believes in honest labour and love of the land; a family that lives in harmony and has made the attainment of excellence a moral imperative.
