Elegantly structured on the palate, velvety with a long finish, this is the top wine from the Conti Bossi Fedrigotti cellars in Trentino. Produced since 1961 and the first Bordeaux blend to be made in Italy, thanks to Count Federico’s happy intuition. The grapes – Merlot, Cabernet and a small percentage of Teroldego – come from the eponymous vineyard and the wine itself is the emblem of the family’s nobility all over the world.
1961-2011 FIFTY YEARS OF FOJANEGHE
In 1957 Count Federico Bossi Fedrigotti, the father of the current owners of this historic estate, was the first to have the idea that a Bordeaux blend wine would have great potential in the Trentino and so planted the required noble varieties on his Fojaneghe estate, on wide terraces overlooking the Adige river. The first vintage of the eponymous wine was in 1961. It was regarded as revolutionary and unusual, and is still made today, fifty years after its creation. The recent addition of a small percentage of Teroldego to the blend has been made by Masi to underline the wine’s Trentino origins.
