Alessandro Speri, founder and owner of this young and dynamic winery, belongs to a long and noble tradition of winemaking producers. In Italy, the family name is 'synonymous with award-winning wines and success since 1876. In the obsessive search for the perfect vineyard he has crossed the Atlantic and 'established in a small village on the slopes of the Andes, called La Consulta. In this beautiful district of Argentina, which will hear a lot about in the coming years, the air buzzing of a thousand feet high, by the grapes that will form the backbone of his most known and appreciated Cru.
Grape: 65% Malbec - 35% Bonarda
Origin area: La Consulta - Uco Valley and Rivadavia, Mendoza (Argentina)
Altitude: 3.200 and 2.100 feet (above sea level)
Harvest: Hand-picked using baskets of 35 pounds each.
Fermentation: Maceration of the grapes at low temperature of 47ºF for two days. Alcoholic fermentation during two weeks on its skins with daily pump-over.
Aging: Four months in selected oak barrel from Allier (France). Two months in the bottle.
Tating notes: Bright red ruby color with violet hues. Aroma of fruit raspberry, plum and cherry, hints of vanilla at the nose. Mouth full body, fill flavored with a lot of fruit coming through the palate, delicate tannins well balanced, long pleasant finish.
Food pairing: Stuffed spinach and ricotta cheese ravioli dressed with butter and salvia; grilled river fish; chicken and rabit meat; and “carpaccio”.
