The Montepulciano “Spelt” by La Fattoria Valentina is a historic red of great fame, not only within national borders, but also internationally. Intriguing and intense, it presents itself with a beautiful ruby red dress, very deep and chromatically deep. A great wine for aging, which expresses all the complexity given by the long aging in wood in the bottle, presenting itself dense and concentrated, with a marked varietal profile and a rich, enveloping and sweetly spiced palate.
The La Valentina winery has managed to find its most intimate identity and elegance, especially as regards its redist soul with this Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva "Spelt" which fully confirms all the accolades from critics and the public, which until today he obtained. This Montepulciano is one of the best regional expressions.
The "Spelt" Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva is one of the first oenological goals achieved by the La Valentina winery which, after years of experimentation in the field, in the cellar and in the vineyard, has understood that the work must be followed above all in the latter and that all production processes must be meticulously cared for. In the Pescara Valley, the marine and mountain influences create the optimal conditions for a vine like Montepulciano to express itself at its best.

Tasting notes: It has a deep ruby red color. On the nose Mediterranean and mineral hints with intense notes of violet, raspberries, strawberries, cassis and cocoa. Rich, intense, structured and persistent.
Vinification: Fermentation and maceration for about three weeks in stainless steel tanks. 16 months part in 25 hl oak Slavonian barrels and part in barriques and tonneaux, new and 2nd passage. Final refinement after the blending: couple of months in 25 hl oak Slavonian barrels and almost a year in bottle.
Alcohol content: 13%
Food pairings: Baked Lamb and Kid, grilled meats, arrosticini (local skewer of sheep meat) and lamb chops, pasta with ragù sauce.
