Alessandro Speri, founder and owner of this young and dynamic winery, belongs to a long and noble tradition of winemaking producers. In Italy, the family name is 'synonymous with award-winning wines and success since 1876. In the obsessive search for the perfect vineyard he has crossed the Atlantic and 'established in a small village on the slopes of the Andes, called La Consulta. In this beautiful district of Argentina, which will hear a lot about in the coming years, the air buzzing of a thousand feet high, by the grapes that will form the backbone of his most known and appreciated Cru.
Grape: 100% Malbec
Origin area: La Consulta - Valle de uco, Mendoza (Argentina)
Altitude: 3.200 feet (above sea level)
Harvest: Hand-picked using baskets of 35 pounds each.
Fermentation: Maceration of grapes at a low temperature of 47ºF for three days. Alcoholic fermentation during two weeks on its skins with dialy pump-over.
Aging: Ten months in selected oak barrels from Allier (France). Six months in the bottle.
Tasting notes: Bright ruby red color with intense violets hues. Aroma of raspberry, plum and vainilla. Good structure on the palate with soft tannins and good acidity. Red berry fruits predominate with well-balanced tannins, integrated to the oak. Fresh fruity wine with nice finished.
Food pairing: Pasta, white and red meats, empanadas and traditional argentine barbecue.
