Prunotto's Nebbiolo "Occhetti" comes from the important Nebbiolo cru situated on the hill of the same name near Monteu Roero, which is predominantly sandy with gravelly and clayey-calcareous layers, on which the Nebbiolo vineyards are located. The local elders like to recall how this particular slope gives rise to wines that best express the character of the grapes. An experiential knowledge that has been handed down for a long time. The Antinori family must have understood this well when they decided to take over this important winery, continuing to produce wines from grand crus while respecting its history and traditions.
