It is the principal white grape of the Northern Rhône, but in the Maremma Viognier’s particularities are enhanced thanks to the light in this area, the minerality of its soils and perfect ripening. It is a white that has a golden hue with emerald highlights; on the nose it offers hawthorn, daisies and white fl owers, but especially apricots and white peaches, with almost resin-like hints. On the palate it is full and rounded, with an attractive vein of acidity that gives freshness to this almost chewy wine. Astraio is 100% Viognier and comes from particularly mineralrich soils that accentuate the wine’s tanginess and give it considerable longevity.
